Uniquely large flowers

A unique large flowered aquilegia with beautiful blooms of pink and white. Flowering profusely in early to mid-spring this is a perfect plant for creating a traditional cottage garden or mixed perennial border. If seeds are allowed to set they will readily cross-pollinate with other aquilegia and the seeds will produce multi-coloured offspring in the following year.


Plant as part of a mixed border. They prefer moist ground in a shaded or part shaded position.


Tolerant of most soil types and positions if self-seeded plants are not wanted remove flowers before seeds are set.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
