Taxus baccata Semperaurea

GardenAward

Beautiful golden foliage

The eye catching new growth on this beautiful Yew is bright golden yellow in spring and ages to rusty gold through the summer. The evergreen needles hold this colour through the winter months when the plant will light up a part shaded border.

Where?

It's rounded globe shape makes this slow growing conifer easy to clip in to formal shapes or just to keep it tidy. Plant it in the middle of a border or as a specimen in a lawn. Happy in sun or part shade and most good garden soil.

How?

Enrich the soil before planting by adding organic matter - well rotted manure or garden compost is fine. Water your plant occasionally in dry weather until established.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
