Mountain Pine

Deep green foliage

A charming compact pine suitable for the smallest of spaces where it slowly grows into a hummock of handsome rich green, long needle-like leaves. Brilliant for adding a touch of the Orient to a patio or border.

Where?

In full sun and well drained soil where this lovely conifer will be an evergreen feature through the year. An excellent conifer for seaside gardens. Also suitable for a large container on a sunny patio.

How?

Add goodness to the soil by digging in planting compost. Use good quality compost for container growing and raise the pot on pot feet through the winter months to help with drainage. Water occasionally in dry spells to keep this plant looking its best.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
