Bosnian Pine

Classical looking slow growing conifer

This slow growing pine tree eventually makes a fresh green pyramid, giving year round interest. The needle-like leaves have a refreshing scent when crushed and this lovely conifer will make a great contrast to flowering plants.

Where?

Give this one room at the back of a sunny border in well drained soil where it will be happy for many years with very little attention. Loves to be by the sea as well.

How?

Add goodness to the soil by digging in planting compost. Water occasionally in dry spells to keep this plant looking its best.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
