Golden Oriental Spruce

Large tree with stunning yellow new foliage

This graceful evergreen will eventually grow into a small tree and lights up a part shaded spot in spring when the new needle-like leaves appear bright golden yellow. These mature to deep green. The ends of the branches droop slightly to give a weeping effect.

Where?

In sun or part shade and any good soil. Excellent planted at the back of a border or as a specimen in a lawn.

How?

Add goodness to the soil by digging in planting compost.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
