Picea abies Remontii

Slow growing with light green young foliage

A slow growing spruce which eventually makes a wide spreading, cone shaped evergreen tree. Bright green needles are pale green and yellow in spring as the new growth begins.

Suitable for a sunny border, rock garden or to create a focal point in a lawn. An excellent conifer to plant in a heather border to provide some height and colour.

Choose a sunny or part shaded spot and plant in any good soil. Add goodness to the soil by digging in planting compost. Water occasionally in dry spells to keep this plant looking its best.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
