Attractive groundcover for a dry or seaside location

Price 1 Litre Pots £3.99 Each - 3 for £10

With its fluffy centred flowers and low, spreading shape this lovely plant is a good choice for sunny spots and coastal gardens. Looks great trailing from the top of a wall or in a rock garden. Trailing stems root as they spread to make good ground cover and the leaves are a feature through the year in mild locations.

Where?

Happiest in a sunny position and well drained soil. Great for summer colour in a container on the patio.

How?

Add sand or grit to the soil to help with drainage. Use John Innes No 3 potting compost if planting in a container. Cut back in spring to keep tidy.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
