A pretty, compact evergreen rock plant that is clothed in deep violet-purple flowers from late spring and early summer. The flowers contrast beautifully with the green foliage.

Where?

For best results plant in full sun and in a sheltered spot. Perfect for rock gardens, gaps in walls, or as ground cover on sunny banks. It can be used at the front of mixed flower beds or on the top of stone walls where it will hang down in clumps.

How?

It thrives in any well-drained chalky or sandy soil that is neutral or limey. Prune back after flowering to encourage new growth and better flowering.

A pollinator-friendly plant that attracts bees and butterflies. It is also a bat-friendly plant.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
