GardenAward

Winter windflower, Sapphire anemone

Masses of blue flowers produced in early spring

Price 1 Litre Pots £3.99 Each - 3 for £10

Spring wouldn't be the same without a profusion of anemone flowers. This variety produces masses of daisy-like flowers in shades of blue and purple from March. Perfect use in a mixed border or rockery around the base of larger plants.

Where?

They like well drained conditions in part shade to perform best. For a natural look, plant in clusters to create drifts of spring flowers.

How?

Easy to grow and best when left undisturbed so they can multiply on their own.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
