Geum 'Lady Stratheden' is a free-flowering perennial producing beautiful golden-yellow blooms during summer.

An award-winning variety producing a marvellous display of cheery yellow blooms which will add colour and texture to your beds and borders. Geum 'Lady Stratheden' will flower for months from early summer onwards, this beautiful plant has wiry but upright stems which add relaxing movement to the garden as they sway in the breeze. Above these multiple stems sit gorgeous yellow flowers, which just seem to keep on coming right the way through summer. The foliage forms a neat rosette at the base, and over the years the clump becomes bigger and produces more flowering stems each time. This is a very rewarding plant to grow for summer colour, resilient and easy to grow, you'll look forward to its fuss-free and beautiful display every year. Not only does it perform very well in the border, but it's a great choice for use as a cut flower too, lasting well in a vase and adding those sunny highlights that suit every combination.

Plant Care & Advice

Geum 'Lady Stratheden' loves a sunny spot and looks great in a border with other cottage-garden plants. This resilient plant can tolerate all kinds of conditions, from exposed or coastal sites, to enclosed sunny positions.

Happy in most soils, however it prefers good drainage. If your soil is heavy, place some grit or sand in the base of the planting hole.

Water well when first planted and continue to water regularly throughout the first summer. Once established, this plant will only require watering when conditions are particularly hot and dry.

It's a good idea to feed your plant with a liquid fertilser occasionally over the growing season to maximise flowering and overall health, although it isn't essential.

During the flowering season, deadhead regularly to encourage more flowers. Remove old flowering stems entirely in late summer or autumn by snipping them off at the base.
