Golden leaves that darken in winter are a lovely contrast to long lasting spikes of deep pink flowers.

Erica 'Eva Gold' provides a tapestry of rich colours through what can be the greyest months of the year and a will add a ray of sunshine to the winter garden when teamed with other heathers and conifers. The needle-like leaves are bright golden-green and deepen in colour through the winter months, making this a plant for all seasons. A tough customer, this lovely heather is ideal to grow in tricky areas and will cope with dry shade, although the brightest leaf colours are gained when grown in a sunny position. Quickly growing in to a compact mound that will make effective ground cover, this is an easy plant to grow even in exposed, seaside gardens where it will add a long lasting splash of winter colour.

Winter flowering, year 'round foliage colour and fuss free care - a golden heather worthy of any garden.

Plant Care & Advice

The 'Darley Dale Heathers' are some of the toughest in the Heather family and will grow in almost any soil as long as it is not waterlogged. They grow well in sun and will also tolerate a lot of shade which makes them useful plants for ground cover in tricky areas.

When planting add some multi-purpose compost or ericaceous compost to the soil and water your plant well before and after planting. Once established, Erica 'Eva Gold' is drought tolerant and will need little watering.

Plants in the ground can be fed each spring with a general fertiliser and plants in containers can be fed once every two weeks through the growing season with a liquid feed. Add mulch of composted bark to top up the soil in spring or autumn.

Your plant can be clipped lightly in early summer to tidy the shoots but it's not essential to do this each year.
