With unusually narrow petals, 'Grace' has a very special beauty. This is an apricot-coloured rose, deep shaded in the centre and paler towards the edge. The shallow-cupped blooms are packed with petals that gradually open into lovely rosettes with reflexed outer petals. The fragrance is warm, sensuous, and, as 'Grace' repeat flowers well, it can be enjoyed from early summer through to first frosts. The light green leaves create the perfect background for the gorgeous blooms. This popular variety holds the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit.
David Austin named this rose to celebrate the special quality that he feels characterises all English Roses - 'grace'
Grace' is an all-rounder in the garden, and the perfect choice for bedding or border. This medium-sized shrub has broad, arching growth, and can easily be the star or mixed with other plants to create an eye-catching display. It is also suitable for growing as a specimen.
Roses thrive on sunshine, ideally a minimum of four hours each dayto perform their best. However, roses can still perform well in shadier locations, with selected varieties suitable for growing against a north wall.
Roses can be planted year round, but avoid doing so when the ground is frozen, waterlogged or in periods of drought. Dusting the roots with Mycorrhizal Fungi when planting will aid establishment. Allow your rose plenty of space to develop to its best, sited away from intense competition of trees & hedges.
Apply a thick layer of mulch around the base of the plant in early spring to help retain moisture and help keep competing weeds at bay. Gently fork rose fertiliser into the soil surface and continue to water well throughout the growing season. Dead-head flowers to encourage fresh new blooms to follow.
