Chance For Charities To Bloom With Dobbies

12 January, 2017

Dobbies is searching for new charities to support through its Local Charity Partnership fundraising programme.

The garden centre retailer is urging local charities to apply, emphasizing its desire to work with groups that support people in the local community. The successful charities will be bursting with ideas and have eager volunteers who are ready to get involved to fundraise in store. Along with collections, there will be the opportunity to hold fundraising days at the stores. The selected charities will also be the sole beneficiaries of money raised through the carrier bag charge from their partnered store.

So far, for the nine month fundraising programme, Dobbies has raised £77,871 with fundraising continuing through to 1st March.

Dobbies raise money for a national charity for the remaining three months over the Christmas period. For Christmas 2016, the leading garden centre retail partnered up with Teenage Cancer Trust and with funds still coming in, the current total of funds raised is almost £160,000 for the charity across its 34 stores.

Applications* close on Monday 13th February 2017 (4pm). To find out more and apply, please visit Dobbies in the Community.

*Not all 34 stores are open for applications as 18 have voted to extend their existing charity partners to two years. To find out which stores are receiving applications this year, please visit: Applications
