Dobbies appeal to charities to form blossoming partnerships

21 January, 2016

Leading UK garden centre retailer, Dobbies, is to launch this year’s community programme by selecting Local Charity Partners for each of its 35 stores.

Dobbies is keen to team up with organisations who hold strong local roots and work within the local communities of each store. The charity will then have the opportunity to fundraise in-store from the beginning of March.

Andy King, Managing Director of Dobbies said: “Our stores have a strong commitment to the local community, this continues again this year as each store looks to partner with some inspiring local charities. Over the last twelve months, our stores and customers helped raise over £60k for our local partners, so we’re excited begin our charitable work for the year ahead.”

For the first time, rather than a national charity, Dobbies’ Local Charity Partners will benefit from the 5p plastic bag charge to boost fundraising efforts. Charities that apply will be asked to fundraise within the store as much as possible and the opportunity to hold fundraising days will also be available for Local Partners that can support them.

The leading garden centre retailer is also encouraging customers to tell charities close to their hearts about the opportunity available to them at their local store.

How to apply: An application form is available to complete online. All interested charities must apply by 4pm on 19th February 2016. Please contact community@dobbies.com
