Dobbies in search for local charity to support

11 February, 2014

Dobbies Garden Centres is on the hunt for a local charity to support in each of its 34 stores this year, and is urging local charities to come forward and apply.

Each year, every Dobbies store appoints a local charity partner to support throughout the year. This charity is the first recipient of any fundraising activities, including prize draw opportunities and in-store fundraising events.

Dobbies is currently looking for a charity partner operating locally in the area, which provides services or projects to the local community.  The leading garden centre retailer is also encouraging local community members to nominate charities for consideration.

Laura Stevens, community champion at Dobbies Garden Centre, Livingston, said: “It’s that time of year again when we’re looking for a local charity partner to work with throughout the year.  We’ve had great success with local charity partnerships in previous years and we’re looking forward to receiving nominations and applications.  Our customers have always been extremely generous in supporting our charities, and will do all they can to take part in our fundraising activities planned throughout the year.”

Dobbies is delighted to have raised over £300,000 for charities across the UK for its local and national charity partnerships, in the last financial year.

How to apply: please contact the Community Champion at your local Dobbies Garden Centre or download the application form online at  All interested charities must apply by the 28th of February 2014.
