Work Well Underway on New Dobbies at Southport
Work is now well underway on the new £10m state of the art Garden World at Bentham’s Way in Southport.
All set to open in March 2008, the roof of the building is now firmly in place and work has just commenced on the garden centres innovative visitor attraction.
As well as providing a 55,000 sq ft centre, the new facility will offer an enjoyable leisure experience and an attraction to the Southport area in its own right. The garden centre will be a major destination for homes and gardens retailing.
Located on the eastern edge of the town, the highly visible 15 acre site occupies a rural position within Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council.
The new Garden World will offer an extensive indoor and outdoor plant and gardening area, a Farm Foodhall and Deli boasting some of the finest locally sourced fresh and organic produce available in the region, a specialist Aquatics department, an indoor range including bath and home products, and a large restaurant with conservatory.
Set within beautifully landscaped grounds, the new Garden World will also house an innovative visitor attraction called The Greenhouse that will give visitors the opportunity to find out more about plants and how important they are for all our lives. Practical and useful, the visitor attraction will be both high tech and hands on and aimed at all ages.
