Work Commences on New Dobbies at Dunfermline

Work commenced earlier this month on Dobbies most advanced horticultural retail and leisure offer in Scotland.

Due to open early May 2007, the initial stages of Dobbies Garden World at Fife Leisure Park in Dunfermline has begun.

With their latest new build Dobbies are taking the concept of combining recreation and leisure and the goals of inspiring, educating and entertaining customers to the next level. 

All set within an attractively landscaped environment, Dobbies Garden World in Dunfermline will boast a dedicated horticultural tourist attraction with a series of themed gardens that change with the seasons and an exciting and interactive sensory visitor centre.  Practical and useful, these additions will highlight that gardening is fun and easy, promote environmental awareness and aid customers with problem solving and varied gardening information.

The Garden World will also include an extensive outdoor plant and gardening area, a locally supplied Farm Foodhall, a specialist aquatics and water garden department, a dedicated children’s play area and a 300 seater restaurant. 

Complimenting the existing leisure park and aiming to attract a day out customer, when complete, the new high quality garden centre building will span 50,000 sq ft and bring around 100 new full and part time jobs to Fife. 

One of the top ten leisure parks in the UK, Fife Leisure Park is situated two miles east of Dunfermline and 17 miles north of Edinburgh, with the park benefiting from a prime location just off the main M90 motorway into Fife.
