Dobbies Sandyholm – we’re growing together

Two well respected names in horticulture, Dobbies Garden Centres and Sandyholm Garden Centre in Crossford, Carluke, are combining their skills and knowledge to offer customers the benefit of their joint expertise.

Dobbies has acquired the business and assets of Sandyholm Garden Centre and Coffee Shop for £8 million (plus stock at valuation) – a move which will see enhanced benefits for both customers and staff. Dobbies Sandyholm will unite Dobbies 140 year old reputation for quality products and expert advice with Sandyholm’s superb local knowledge and loyal customer base.

Well-established in the Lanarkshire area, Sandyholm Garden Centre takes in 36,000 sq.ft of retail space, situated on a 9 acre site and includes a coffee shop.

The original centre was created over 40 years ago by the Warnock family. David Warnock and his sister, Dorothy, took over the Centre in 1999 and grew it to a successful business, boasting over 100 staff, sales of £5.8 million and profits of £1.1million.

Staff at Dobbies Sandyholm will have access to the Dobbies Staff Card, entitling them to substantial discounts on Dobbies products.

The acquisition of Sandyholm by Dobbies brings Dobbies portfolio up to 24 Garden Centres UK wide, 12 of which are in Scotland.
