
Chief Executive
James's career began at the City firm of L Messel & Co in 1983. He became an associate director in 1986, shortly after the company merged with Shearson Leham. In 1987 he joined Prudential Bache (Capital Funding) until his departure to join Dobbies in 1989. He is currently the Non-executive Director of Dunedin Smaller Companies Investment plc and Midlothian Enterprise Trust.
In 1994 James was instrumental in an MBO, after which he was appointed Managing Director. In 1997 he became Chief Executive, when the Company floated on AIM.
