Farm Foodhall Background

The Farm Foodhalls specialise in local produce and reflect a ‘field to kitchen’ ethos, building on Dobbies' established horticultural heritage and continuing the range right through from garden to table.

Striving to be the number one choice for plants, gardening and the ever-widening range of products demanded by today’s lifestyle gardener, Dobbies has developed their horticultural profile throughout related products and services and now have nine Farm Foodhalls at stores in Edinburgh, Dunfermline, Milngavie (Glasgow), Ayr, Stirling, Ponteland (Newcastle), Cirencester, Reading and Milton Keynes.
The Farm Foodhalls specialise in local produce, but with a broader delicatessen overlay.
Reflecting a ‘field to kitchen’ ethos, the Dobbies offering builds on an established horticultural heritage, continuing the range right through from garden to table – from apple trees to fresh apples, strawberry plants to punnets of fresh strawberries.  Each Farm Foodhall offers some of the finest locally sourced fresh and organic produce available in the region and beyond.

Something for all palates, the eclectic collection of delicatessen items will make your mouth water.  With over 70 different types of cheeses and 18 varieties of olives, you’ll also find home cured meats, luxury pates, handmade pies and more.  The range on offers also extends to game, fresh breads, handmade preserves, gourmet ice creams, and you can also find more exotic products like ostrich steak and quails eggs.

Dobbies commitment to local farmers and producers ensures a continuous range of fresh and natural food and drink products from specialist suppliers who share a passion for excellence in food.  Dobbies is dedicated to ensuring traceability on all their products.

Farm Foodhalls in Edinburgh, Milngavie (Glasgow), Dunfermline and Ayr also boast in-house butchers and Stirling an in-house baker.  Food lovers will be spoilt for choice!

During the festive season, customers can also choose from a whole host of festive food and drink hand-picked from around the world, from carefully selected spirits and champagnes, indulgent Christmas puddings and cakes, smoked salmon, rich chocolates, gift sets and more.   There’s Niederegger marzipan which is arguably the best in the world, to freshly poured and bottled oils and balsams in delicious flavours like lemon, fig, blackcurrant to name just a few - you’re guaranteed to find that special something.

In addition Dobbies offer a ‘Create Your Own’ hamper service in the run up to Christmas.  Customers can select their preferred size of hamper (from £2.99 for a small basket up to £19.99 for a beautifully made 19” basket) and then select their favourite gourmet treats to personalise their individual hampers.

Going forward Farm Foodhalls are planned for a number of new sites being developed over the next two years.  These include Sheffield, Belfast, York and Southport.
