HERE WE GROW

This year we’ve launched a nationwide campaign called Here We Grow which encourages our local communities near our garden centres to get growing!

Here We Grow aims to help local communities develop green space in their area so everyone has the chance to appreciate the wonders of local gardens and outdoor space.

Here We Grow gives support, funding and assistance to local community groups, projects, schools and charities in areas near Dobbies garden centres, to help encourage them to enjoy planting and growing in their gardens.

How to apply:

Each Dobbies garden centre manages its own local programme for Here We Grow, so if you would like to put your group forward for funding (including if you’re a national charity looking for support on a local level), please contact your nearest Dobbies Garden Centre and ask to speak to our Community Champion.

Types of Here We Grow projects your local Dobbies store will support:

• School sensory gardens or school veggie patches
• Garden makeovers at homes of families in need
• Window boxes and hanging baskets for hospitals, hospices, care centres and support centres
• Planting trees at elderly homes and disability centres
• Introducing allotments to local community centres or football and sporting grounds
• Sponsoring a tree of hope, wish trees or donating Christmas trees
• Encouraging grow your own with a community focus: for example, growing with neighbours or in communal areas of housing estates.
