Assistant Restaurant Manager – Melville Garden World

We are currently looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the team in our Melville Garden World.
The Role.
To be successful in this role you will have proven capability as an effective team leader as well as successful delivery of budgetary controls and management. You also ensure full compliance to food safety requirements. Our restaurants deliver high volume in a compact environment and therefore require a hands-on, flexible approach to work. Previous experience in a retail catering role and holding a relevant food safety qualification would be an advantage.
Main duties include:
- To provide excellent customer service,
- To assist the Restaurant Manager in the smooth running of the restaurant on a daily basis and to deputise in the absence of the Restaurant Manager,
- To ensure all health and safety, and food hygiene procedures and guidelines are followed and documented as per company policy,
- To motivate, develop and train staff using the company training programme,
- To deliver efficient rotas and to effectively deploy staff to the needs of the business,
- To be able to work both from and back of house according to business requirements.

Baker – Stirling Garden World

We are currently looking for a Baker to join the team in our Garden World in Stirling.
The Role.
Duties include being responsible for preparing and providing a range of breads, rolls, pastries and cakes throughout the day, maintaining our high housekeeping standards and ensuring compliance with our food safety regulations.
Holding a relevant food safety qualification would be an advantage.
This is a full time position and will include working weekends on a rotational basis.

Commis Chef (part-time, 2 positions) –Livingston Dobbies Garden World

Dobbies are currently undergoing an extensive development within their restaurant offerings and are looking to attract the best chef talent to facilitate this growth.
The Role.
To be a successful Commis Chef you will be passionate about food and enjoy working with fresh ingredients. You will be able to work well as part of a small team and under the guidance of our head chef but also have the ability to work on own initiative when required. You will be responsible for preparing hot and cold food throughout the day, including daily specials for our customers. Along with general kitchen duties such as housekeeping, ordering stock, controlling stock levels and wastage, you should be well organised and have excellent food hygiene and presentation standards.
Experience of working in a kitchen or retail environment would be preferred along with holding a relevant food hygiene certificate.
The role will entail working alternate weekends and late night opening.
